Cynthia C. Muchnick pursued her undergraduate degree in Art History and Political Science at Stanford University where she met her now husband, Adam Muchnick. After completing college, Cindy moved to Chicago where she began a career in college admissions at the University of Chicago. One spring break, Cindy and Adam were on vacation in Paris when Adam popped the fateful question and sparked Cindy’s interest in collecting marriage proposal stories and writing Will You Marry Me? Cindy and her husband relocated to Florida where she completed her masters degree in Liberal Studies, taught tenth grade history and wrote her first book.
After the overwhelming success of Will You Marry Me?, Cindy completed 101 Ways to Pop the Question (both with Macmillan Publishing, USA). She is proud to be dubbed an Engagement Expert and Coach. Cindy worked for three years as a columnist and spokesperson for Honeymoon magazine (Time-Warner Distributors). She appears frequently as a wedding and romantic travel expert on the national talk show and speaking circuit. She has also worked as a consultant to a national talk shows to produce and coordinate their “vow renewal week” and “destination wedding” theme segments. Her newest book, The Ultimate Wedding Idea Book (Prima Publishing), hit stores in May, 2001, and The Frugal Bride in 2002. She is also researching 101 Places to Pop the Question: An Insider’s Guide to the Most Romantic places on Earth.
Cindy freelanced for Coast magazine and offered her expertise and consulted on travel, romance and wedding articles for publications including Cosmopolitan, Glamour, POV, and Playboy.
Still incurable romantics, Cindy and her husband are living happily ever after with their three sons and daughter in Menlo Park, California.
